Nursery News! It is adorable!

A big, big thanks to Sam's mama, Gwen, for putting in two days here and several more sewing ones at home to helping us get this nursery together. Not only did she help us with choosing a design, she basically did all the painting, put up the trim & shelving, and made absolutely adorable curtains and valences. We couldn't have done it without her. THANK YOU, GWEN!

Sam got to experience one of his first "Daddy Duties" by assembling the nursery furniture and hanging new blinds. He's my hero!

Sam and I spent an evening with an overhead projector and a stencil tracing the outline of little cars zooming around the floor. The next day, I spent about 4 hours scooting across the floor with my paintbrush filling them in. We have no plans to ever move the furniture in the room, because I only had the energy to put the cars up on two of the four walls!

So... countdown to baby: About 6 or 7 weeks! The nursery will be even cuter when he's in it! We still need some crib linens, a changing pad, and a few other baby basics, but if he decides to come early, we are ready! I think.... Is anyone ever actually ready to bring home a newborn?
