Pray for My Grandpa Strunk

Please every who reads this say a prayer for my Grandpa Gene Strunk.

He has been admitted to ICU at Bloomington Hospital and was put on a ventilator today.

Grandpa has been fighting with Lymphoma for quite a while.

Please pray for healing and that God takes away his pain and suffering. Pray for my family, especially my Grandma, that we may accept God's will whatever it may be.

Sam and I got to visit him for a few minutes today. He couldn't speak but we were able to tell him that we loved him and were praying for him. He squeezed my hand.

Here are a few pics from our trip to Ft. Myers to see my parents. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Robbie did fabulous on the plane both ways.

Hey! It's a blog entry! Can you believe it?!?

Winter was hard on the Leahy household. Robbie was really sick in January with pneumonia an again in February with bronchitis. Sam and I were both sick on and off as well. This was a bad season for everyone, but I felt like we got hit awful hard. We have all recovered, though, and are doing well!
Robbie is growing like a weed. At his last visit he weighed 20.5 pounds. He is chewing on everything he can get his hands on and is "army crawling" all around the floor. Every once and away his knees add to the crawl, but it is more reach-drag-reach-drag than anything else. He's really quick and we've had to make sure the major play areas are free of things we don't want him to chew on. This is getting interesting, that is for sure!
Sam started at a new store. He's working at the Kentucky & Mann store now. It is a 24 hour store so he has been working a lot more of those 2:30pm to 11pm shifts that I hate. I call those my "single mom" nights. It gives me a new respect for my sister who gets two little kids ready for bed alone every night. So far Sam likes the store, although he says there is less business than the store he was previously at. Please pray that in these hard economic times for the security of his company and their employees. It is a blessing for him to have such a good, steady job despite the sometimes awful hours.

We are all really excited in Leahyland because next week is Spring Break! Woo hoo! Just one more week to work and then we are all packing up and flying to Ft. Myers to visit Mom and Dad for four days. Dad hasn't seen Robbie in person since Thanksgiving! I hope Robbie does well on the plane. I'm a little worried about it. I have this nightmare about him having one of his "poopsplosion" events right after take off. Oh goodness, the smell on an airplane would be just awful. Maybe he'll just sleep the whole time... yeah... it could happen. We are all looking forward to the visit. I really miss them and can't wait to see them again!

Robbie is visiting with Jack and Gwen this weekend. I'm sure he's having a blast with Nana and Poppy, but I admit, I miss him already. Tomorrow Sam and I are going out in the morning to buy him a new convertible carseat since his infant carseat only has 1.5 pounds left of growing room. We also are making a big Once-upon-a-Child trip to get him some 9-12 months and 12 months size clothes. His 6-9months and 9 months clothes are getting pretty snug!
Praise the Lord for Spring. I am so happy to see the sunshine again. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders every time I feel the sun on my face. Sam says I'm like a flower -- I bloom in Spring and Summer.
We traded in our Playstation 2 and a bazillion games and accessories in exchange for a Wii at Game Stop. Anyone else out there want to be Wii friends? Let me know and I'll send you my number! Sam and I bowled one night after Robbie went to sleep and had a lot of fun.
I'll try not to let it get so long between blogs again. Have a wonderful Spring, dear friends!
