Today I am camped out on my couch with the laptop, my electric blanket, and Netflix Instant Viewing "Lie to Me" episodes trying not to think about how yucky my stomach feels. I took a sick day today. Blech.
So, just a little update on us.
First thing, congratulations to my husband Sam who just got accepted to the reserve academy of our local Police department. He will be attending training a few nights a week and a couple Saturday's a month. At the successful completion of the training in November, he will be a full sworn officer. The reserve officers volunteer their time (approx 24 hrs a month) for the police department. Sam is very excited.
I'm a little nervous about the whole thing mostly because of the added time away from home. Sam works two to three nights a week already and another two nights away plus weekends... sheesh... looks like a lot of single mommy time to me.
One thing I'm trying to do to alleviate the stress is grocery delivery and possible doing some online shopping on Amazon moms. We are getting our first "Peapod" delivery tomorrow. The prices seem pretty reasonable and comparable to our local grocery store. Some of the "shelf" items like Lunchables and Microwave soups seem quite a bit more pricey. Staples like meat, milk, bread, and cheese seem to be about the same. I've been looking at Amazonmoms too for diapers/pullups and other things. Sadly though, I really don't know if they are reasonable prices are not. I should probably be ashamed that I don't know what I'm actually paying for detergent, trash bags, etc... So! Off to do some comparison shopping, I guess. Here's my thought. I work all day. Sam works all day and then volunteers and works all night. So if I can avoid shopping all together at relatively the same cost. Wouldn't those hours dragging a cranky Robbie to the store be better spent playing?
Ick. I gotta go.

If you think I'm touching *this* one with a ten-foot-pole...
Not. Saying. a WORD.
Let's try something a little *less* potentially controversial, k? Li...
